Candidate Application Guide

This guide walks you through the process of applying to attend an NH Cursillo weekend as a candidate. The entire process takes about 10–15 minutes and no login is required.

Before You Begin

Please make sure you have the following information ready:

• Your personal contact information (address, phone, email)
• An emergency contact name and phone number
• Your sponsor's name, email, and phone number
• Your parish name
• Any health conditions or dietary restrictions we should know about
• A credit card or checkbook for payment

Step 1: Fill Out the Application

Navigate to the Candidate Application page from the website menu. You'll see the application form with several sections.

Candidate Information

Select which Cursillo weekend you'd like to attend from the dropdown, then fill in your personal information:

• Title, First Name, Last Name, Suffix — Your full legal name
• Email — We'll use this to send your confirmation and waiver
• Address — Your mailing address
• Cell Phone / Home Phone — At least one phone number is required
• Age / Occupation — Optional but helpful

Emergency Contact

Provide the name, phone number, and relationship of someone we can contact in case of an emergency during the weekend.

Sponsor Information

Enter the name, email, and phone number of the Cursillista who is sponsoring you. Your sponsor must also submit a separate Sponsor Application.

Parish & Eligibility

Confirm that you are able to receive Holy Eucharist, indicate your parish affiliation, and provide your parish name.

Marital Information

Select your marital status. If married, provide your spouse's name and whether they have lived a Cursillo.

Special Considerations

Let us know about any health conditions, special needs, food allergies, or dietary restrictions so we can accommodate you during the weekend.

Privacy Authorization

Indicate whether you give permission to use your name, photo, parish, and city/state in Cursillo communications.

Signature

Type your name as your electronic signature and confirm the date, then click Save to submit your application.

Step 2: Liability Waiver

After submitting your application, you'll be presented with the NH Cursillo Liability Waiver. This is required before your registration is complete.

Review the Waiver

The waiver is displayed as an embedded PDF. You can click the View/Download Waiver button to open it in a new tab for easier reading.

Sign the Waiver

Under the Electronic Signature heading, type your full name in the signature field. Then click one of the two buttons:

• Accept — You agree to the terms of the waiver. A signed PDF will be emailed to you and to the Pre-Cursillo Coordinator.
• Decline — You do not agree. The Pre-Cursillo Coordinator will be notified.

Step 3: Payment

After the waiver, you'll see the payment page. The fee for the weekend covers accommodations, meals, and materials. You can pay all or part of the fee now; any balance is due at check-in on Thursday evening.

You'll see three payment options:

Pay by Credit Card

1. Click Pay by Card.
2. Enter the amount you'd like to pay toward the weekend fee (minimum deposit or full fee).
3. The page shows the processing fee breakdown (fixed + percentage) and the total that will be charged to your card. The processing fee is non-refundable and separate from the weekend fee.
4. Click Proceed to Payment.
5. A secure Authorize.net payment window opens — enter your card details there. Your card number never touches the NH Cursillo website.
6. After payment, the window closes and you'll be redirected to the confirmation page.

Pay by eCheck

1. Click Pay by eCheck.
2. Enter the amount you'd like to pay (minimum deposit or full fee).
3. The page shows the eCheck processing fee (different rates from credit card).
4. Click Proceed to Payment.
5. A secure Authorize.net window opens with bank account fields — enter your routing and account numbers.
6. After submission, the window closes and you'll be redirected to the confirmation page.

Pay by Mailed Check

1. Click Pay by Mailed Check.
2. The mailing address appears on screen.
3. Make your check payable to St. Mary Magdalen Center and include your name and Cursillo weekend in the memo line.
4. Click Continue to proceed to the confirmation page. The Secretariat will record your payment when the check arrives.

Step 4: Confirmation

You'll see a confirmation page thanking you for your application. You'll also receive confirmation emails:

• A copy of your signed liability waiver (PDF attached)
• A notification that your application has been received

Common Questions

Do I need to create an account or log in?

No. The candidate application is fully public and does not require a login.

Can I pay a partial amount now and the rest later?

Yes. You can pay any amount from the minimum deposit up to the full fee. The remaining balance is due at check-in on Thursday evening.

What if I can't afford the full fee?

Scholarship funding is available. Contact the Pre-Cursillo Coordinator to discuss options.

My sponsor hasn't submitted their application yet. Is that okay?

Yes. You and your sponsor can submit your applications independently and in any order. Both must be received before final approval.

Can I edit my application after submitting?

Contact the Secretariat or Pre-Cursillo Coordinator if you need to make changes after submission.
