[Nh-secretariat] last night's meeting

Leonard B. Campbell 4thday at nhcursillo.org
Thu May 14 12:03:51 MDT 2026

Afternoon!

Easter Sunday is March 28 next year.
March 21 would be Palm Sunday.

March 11 for the Men’s Weekend?
Or have to go out to April 1.

Women’s Weekend April 8, 15 or 22 depending on the Men’s weekend?

Yes, the terms for directors need to be revised for 3 classes (years) - 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029 are 4 years.
Article III Section 4:
Each Director serves a term of three years a………... Terms will be staggered ………
Class of 2026 would become part of the class of 2029 and the classes would not be as even as possible.

And we voted that each of the terms (even the partial terms) are consider first terms as shown on the schematic.
So Rob, the School of Leader’s and my position - the class of 2029 - needs to be merged.

FYI:
Partial years can be considered not a first term (2026 and 2027) unless voted as so.
More interesting, for anyone filling a term, that can also be considered not a first term unless voted as so.

Leave it to the executive committee to decide how they want to merge and whether to consider the two years a first term.

To that end, I tabled a few items for the sake of ending the meeting within our regular time allotment of 2 hours, so here are some items to think about before June meeting:
>
> SOL Coordinator is still open until Jyl and I speak with Adele Rochussen re: this position- hopefully we can get together soon
> Palanca Coordinator position is still open and Christine has graciously agreed to stay on until the position is filled- any thoughts on someone who could fulfill this role?
> Dates for next year’s 4 Cursillo weekends so that we can reserve them asap at SMMC
> Possible Rector(a)s for Spring 2027 weekends, which Jyl will be coordinating/inviting
> Sandy and Rob will need to coordinate new bank account with new EIN# and then add people to this account for access and debit cards
> A possible CDC and/or Summer 2027 seminar for priests, deacons, and seminarians in Region 1 whom we could inform/educate about Cursillo, and the possibility of them becoming Cursillista clergy. It is time to have a CDC (Cursillo de Cursillos) for new and veteran Cursillistas who have not attended one to further their knowledge of the Movement as a whole- this was discussed at the Region 1 meeting and we could join with another diocese(s) to share the cost of bringing the Service Team to the location as the presenters. We cannot do this ourselves- it must be a trained Service Team.
>
> I wanted to give a further report on the Region 1 Secretariat meeting, not the Region 1 Encounter, but I can do that right now since it’s very basic info for you:
> As I mentioned before, Cef Aguilon, our English Speaking National Coordinator is retiring, but his final thoughts to all is that Cursillo must be remain authentic to continue to thrive, so people must be informed and take it to heart what being authentic means- thus the need for more CDC’s.
> The Region 1 Fall Encounter will be held in Medford, MA at St. Raphael’s parish on September 26, 2026, I believe (I know Rob and I will be on our Mississippi River Cruise then, so we can’t attend). It will be another close geographical location, so something to consider attending.
> I sent along Cursillo literature that we are all encouraged to study, but here they are again:
> Leader’s Manual, Study of the Charism, Rector’s Guide, Structure of Ideas, First Conversations at Cal Figuera, My Spiritual Testament, An Apprentice Christian, Cursillo History and Memory, The Thinking of Eduardo Bonnin, 100 Years-Biography-Mentality, History of the Charism, Fundamental Ideas III, and Whom Shall I send- Discerning the Will of God (LOTS OF GOOD MATERIAL HERE FOR SOL, JYL!! )
> Region 1 is still in need of a Spiritual Advisor and others on the Reg. 1 Service Team (we already have 2 from NH, so they are looking to the other states to provide members)
> Finally, a reminder to provide annual reports, keep records and notes on workshops, SOL topics, Retreats, Weekends, and special events to submit to National
>
> Thanks for voting in our new Bylaws for our 501c3 designation. Len has pointed out one item that needs revising, that of the terms of our members, as we need 1-3 year positions beginning in 2026. He can explain better as 2029 is not a valid year for our 3 year designation? Did I get that correct, Len?
> Rob will continue to coordinate the rest of the documents for review and adoption as we go forward. We have accomplished a HUGE task, so KUDOS TO EVERYONE on the endeavor!!
>
> More rain today, and hopefully a sunny weekend and next week….Only God knows
> Let’s keep the dialogue going so that next month’s meeting will wrap up all these items, as well as the Women’s Cursillo in person report. Kristen and team/new Cursillistas are meeting this Saturday for their Reunion, so she and Genevieve and Angela can finish up the written report for submission to us.
>
> Summer is coming, so we can rest a bit, except for Safe Environment Team coordination and a Summer Diocesan Community Cursillo event.
>
> De Colores and God bless.
>
> He is ascended and has giving us a commission to “Go and Spread the Good News and Baptize everyone!” Alleluia!! Come Holy Spirit!!
