Ascension Thursday was not on the radar when the regularly scheduled meeting was posted. To that end, I tabled a few items for the sake of ending the meeting within our regular time allotment of 2 hours, so here are some items to think about before June meeting: * SOL Coordinator is still open until Jyl and I speak with Adele Rochussen re: this position- hopefully we can get together soon * Palanca Coordinator position is still open and Christine has graciously agreed to stay on until the position is filled- any thoughts on someone who could fulfill this role? * Dates for next year?s 4 Cursillo weekends so that we can reserve them asap at SMMC * Possible Rector(a)s for Spring 2027 weekends, which Jyl will be coordinating/inviting * Sandy and Rob will need to coordinate new bank account with new EIN# and then add people to this account for access and debit cards * A possible CDC and/or Summer 2027 seminar for priests, deacons, and seminarians in Region 1 whom we could inform/educate about Cursillo, and the possibility of them becoming Cursillista clergy. It is time to have a CDC (Cursillo de Cursillos) for new and veteran Cursillistas who have not attended one to further their knowledge of the Movement as a whole- this was discussed at the Region 1 meeting and we could join with another diocese(s) to share the cost of bringing the Service Team to the location as the presenters. We cannot do this ourselves- it must be a trained Service Team. I wanted to give a further report on the Region 1 Secretariat meeting, not the Region 1 Encounter, but I can do that right now since it?s very basic info for you: 1. As I mentioned before, Cef Aguilon, our English Speaking National Coordinator is retiring, but his final thoughts to all is that Cursillo must be remain authentic to continue to thrive, so people must be informed and take it to heart what being authentic means- thus the need for more CDC?s. 2. The Region 1 Fall Encounter will be held in Medford, MA at St. Raphael?s parish on September 26, 2026, I believe (I know Rob and I will be on our Mississippi River Cruise then, so we can?t attend). Yes, the terms for directors need to be revised for 3 classes (years) - 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029 are 4 years. Article III Section 4: Each Director serves a term of three years a???... Terms will be staggered ??? Class of 2026 would become part of the class of 2029 and the classes would not be as even as possible. And we voted that each of the terms (even the partial terms) are consider first terms as shown on the schematic. So Rob, the School of Leader?s and my position - the class of 2029 - needs to be merged. FYI: Partial years can be considered not a first term (2026 and 2027) unless voted as so. More interesting, for anyone filling a term, that can also be considered not a first term unless voted as so. I think March 11 is too early to have a Men?s weekend due to weather and plowing issues at SMMC. March 14 also begins Daylight Savings and we traditionally stay away from that Sunday per teams? requests in the past. So we are looking at April 1st ? 4th for Men?s weekend and then probably April 22nd or 29th for Women?s weekend. That would give Rob Comeau and Tracey time to catch their breath in between weekends. ?? Which do you prefer for the Women?s? For Fall 2027, October 14th is after Columbus Day weekend, and so 10/14-17 could work for Men?s weekend and Nov. 4-7 could work for the Women?s Weekend with the end of Daylight Savings on the 7th- would give everyone another hour of sleep ??.
