Hi all,

Mike Fitzgerald has agreed to be the Spring Rector, but with the request to have Steve Duffley as his assistant/mentor, since he has not been on team for a while or as the rector. I agreed to his request as we know Steve is certainly qualified to have any role on team. I will have Rob send Mike a list of potential team members, and I told Mike to put together as large a team as he wants. They have also requested that Fr. Mark Drouin or Fr. Mike Gendron be the SA, and perhaps Dcn. Kevin Cody be the asst if assistance is requested by the priest. I told them that I would have Fr. Chris invite them to be on team and requested by Mike and Steve to help them discern their decision to be on team .

Gloria, Marie, and Jacki have all declined for family reasons- caretakers for their husbands. I put a call into Carol Gerharty, but I haven’t heard yet. I couldn’t remember why we didn’t have her on the list, but she has been an asst. twice. Louise Dauphinais and Rose Locke have both said no in the recent past, but I can try them again if I don’t hear from Carol. I can also ask Annette Maurier if needed.

The Ultreya went well before the closing- we had 48 people there that I counted, and Len did a great job hosting. We were full to the capacity for the closing!! That was great to see and I encouraged everyone to be spreading the word that Cursillo is growing again!!

I have been in touch with the diocese about the Spring weekends, and our weekends are confirmed for March 12-15 and April 16-19 with new pricing. I said I would bring this to the board for review:

They would like to charge $50 pp per night with a cap of $100, and $500 per day for the use of the facility with a cap of $1000. SO, bottom line, each person would be paying (based on $20 people) $150 for the weekend to St. Mary Magdalen Center, then we add on the insurance rider, food, consumable supplies, national and regional dues, etc. Are we still in the margin of $250pp to pad our coffers a bit? To be discussed and voted on…. Elise did say that it is negotiable, but these are the prices the diocese is considering for use of the facility. I will try to get the facility charge down to $500 for the weekend vs. $1000, but I don’t think the dorm charge is too much of an increase. Thoughts????

I think that’s all for now. Since we won’t have a December meeting, I would ask Sandy to give us a financial update after we pay SMCC for the women’s weekend and all other expenses are accounted for (reimbursements, etc). Kevin has taken inventory of supplies we will need for the Spring, and Michelle will also let me know what she will need for Pre-cursillo literature. I may purchase supplies soon as Holly told me the prices are going up for items via the National office, but I don’t know when that will take place.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

De Colores.

Claudette
