Hi all,

Here is the team list for the Men’s Fall Cursillo #329 from Jim Bruneau.  I think Fr. Alan is requesting an asst. but I will check with Fr. Chris on this.

 

The Sarto center is closed- the sign is down out front.  We had a nice closing Mass on Sunday with about 50 people.  Bittersweet, but it was nice to see friends again that we don’t see often.  ☹  Fr Paul Montminy gave us time to share stories about our experiences at the Sarto during the homily, and many shared how special their weekends had been to them- a huge point of conversion for them.  I put a plug in for the Fall weekends and encouraged everyone to continue the Cursillo mission and to sponsor folks. �� 

 

Steve is signing paperwork tomorrow.  Kudos to the Sarto board for all the many years of service to our Lord and community.  Steve and Diane gave a bit of history and report about the Sarto Center.  Not sure what the new owners will do with the building as they are in negotiations with the town of Hooksett for permits, etc.

 

The kitchen is decimated!!  The chapel is empty.  Everything that could be salvaged is now up at the Magdalen Center in the field house waiting to be installed in the St. Joseph Retreat House.  The pink chairs, dining room tables, and the rollo room chairs were left behind, as well as the beds and other furniture…

 

We have 46 twin-size bedspreads and all the blankets at our house from the 12 rooms for donation somewhere.  We also have most of the wall art and lamps, etc- anything that Rob and I felt could be donated to someone or brought to the new Center.  If you know of a shelter or store like the Salvation Army that would take these, please let me know.  The linens from the top side of the building are ok, but the linens from the back side of the building need to be washed as they smell musty.

 

I have the commissioning/confession kneeler here to be brought to the Center in the Fall.  I thought it would be a nice memento and link to/continuation of the Sarto where so many received their call to “Make a Friend, Be a Friend, Bring a Friend to Christ.”  Steve is going to find a place to hang the beautiful stained-glass Jesus from the chapel.  The tabernacle and altar, and all the chapel chairs are at Magdalen now.

 

And finally, Rob and I will be checking out the progress at the Magdalen Center next Wednesday, August 6th at 2pm if anyone can join us.  If not, we can make another appointment for you to see the new retreat center.

Hi Jim and Jyl, could you please send me a list of your team and let me know if it’s finalized or if you’re still inviting people to be on team? I also need a list of your meeting dates so that I can present those to the secretariat at our next meeting. Thanks very much. I will see Jim on August 6 at 2 PM at the Magdalene center, and Jyl, if you can join us, that would be great as well. Leaving for vacation Friday morning, so I will check email periodically And texts. Enjoy the Dog days of summer!
