Hi all,

Thanks for all the work on the NH Cursillo Rector/a Guide.  Lots of time and grateful diligence to the task.  I will have Rob place this guide in the Secretariat files on the website- password protected.  

 

On another note- I have passed in the contracts and Insurance Rider forms to the Diocesan office for our Fall weekends at the St. Mary Magdalen Center.  Should take about 2 weeks to process, I?m told.  Fr. Chris has informed Jim Bruneau about Fr. Alan Tremblay being on the team, and Jim is delighted.  Keep praying for our Women?s team SA.  

 

And finally, great discussion last evening.  I am going to suggest that Len speak at our closings about 4th day activities (in front of the sponsors and community at large), plus Sandy and I were talking about having another Day of Reflection highlighting 4th Day activities, sponsorship, and a spiritual presentation, as well.  What do you think?  We can discuss at our August meeting.  I?d also like Len to go to the reunions and speak to the groups about 4th Day.  Perhaps we should have the sponsors attend the reunions, as well?  It would help to build community and perhaps, small groups, as well.  More to discuss?.

 

Any suggestions for the new tri-fold Cursillo pamphlet?  Let Rob and me know, thanks.

Good morning everyone, I have to put a call into Sean about long-term storage, who will hold on to the disclaimer forms that everyone will have to sign who will be on campus and a few other questions. My father-in-law has been in the hospital all week, so Rob and I have been busy with him. Please keep him in your prayers. I will get to all of the weekend business ASAP. Thanks for your patience. We are also working on the trifold pamphlet, so we will send a copy of that to all of you soon for editing and approval and then hopefully to the printer. I have also asked Rob to revise the paper application for both the candidates and sponsors so that people will have an option to either apply on paper or online. On another note, holly has contacted the secretariat at Saint Basil?s and we received quite a bit of information as to how they are coordinating. They their Cursillo down in Methuen. Some interesting ideas for us to look at, especially for Len in the fourth day Area, but also in the pre-Cursillo area. I will send that information along to you and we can have some discussion at our next meeting in August.Stay cool. De Colores.

Attached are two docs for your review, feedback, and suggestions.   The first is a draft of the trifold flyer.   The second is the new paper version of the application that aligns with the online forms.

All feedback is welcomed.

Hi all,

See the answers below from Sean.  Also, I got a phone call this week from the Insurance Rider representative.  She told me that they have changed the policy, and for any multi-day activities that are less than 72 hours, they will consider a 1 Day event- so the price has been reduced from $720.00 to $260.00 for the 2 weekends.  Excellent!!  Sandy is sending new checks to them and they will return the other checks for shredding.

1.	Yes ? we can find storage space.
2.	Off Campus is really not ?near by??we will need to think about this.  John ? what did smoking staff or students do in the past?  Do we need a ?smoking area??
3.	Participant Release Waivers would need to be signed prior to attending.  They would need to be sent to the Diocese ? Alyse might know who/where we keep these+
4.	Yes, we can lock buildings at night.  Participants would be locked out if they left the building, so we would need to make people aware.

 

We are very excited to see Cursillo coming to Magdalen this fall.  Thank you for helping us launch and for your patience as we learn how to do this together.

Hi Sean and Alyse,

Some other questions have popped up during our last Secretariat meeting last week.  Hopefully you can answer them for me.

 

1.	We have some supplies in bins we would like to leave on the Magdalen Campus between weekends.  Since we will probably be hosting Cursillo weekends at the Center in the future as well as this Fall, is there a locked closet somewhere in which we could leave our supplies?  There are both kitchen and general supplies bins that would need to be stored.

 

2.	I noticed in the agreement that there is no smoking on the campus.  If someone would like to smoke where could they go?  I?m assuming it would be off campus close by?

 

 

3.	3 part question:  Each participant on the weekend will need to sign the Participant Release Waiver- who keeps those documents?  Do we send them to the Diocese or keep them with us on the weekends?  When do they need to be signed?

 

4.	Our Fall Rector is wondering if there will be a key to lock the facility at night?

 

 

Thanks for your assistance with these questions.  My husband and I are visiting Magdalen on August 6th- perhaps a couple of other Cursillo team will be coming with us.  Enjoy your weekend.

Hi all,

Here is the team list for the Men?s Fall Cursillo #329 from Jim Bruneau.  I think Fr. Alan is requesting an asst. but I will check with Fr. Chris on this.

 

The Sarto center is closed- the sign is down out front.  We had a nice closing Mass on Sunday with about 50 people.  Bittersweet, but it was nice to see friends again that we don?t see often.  ?  Fr Paul Montminy gave us time to share stories about our experiences at the Sarto during the homily, and many shared how special their weekends had been to them- a huge point of conversion for them.  I put a plug in for the Fall weekends and encouraged everyone to continue the Cursillo mission and to sponsor folks. ?? 

 

Steve is signing paperwork tomorrow.  Kudos to the Sarto board for all the many years of service to our Lord and community.  Steve and Diane gave a bit of history and report about the Sarto Center.  Not sure what the new owners will do with the building as they are in negotiations with the town of Hooksett for permits, etc.

 

The kitchen is decimated!!  The chapel is empty.  Everything that could be salvaged is now up at the Magdalen Center in the field house waiting to be installed in the St. Joseph Retreat House.  The pink chairs, dining room tables, and the rollo room chairs were left behind, as well as the beds and other furniture?

 

We have 46 twin-size bedspreads and all the blankets at our house from the 12 rooms for donation somewhere.  We also have most of the wall art and lamps, etc- anything that Rob and I felt could be donated to someone or brought to the new Center.  If you know of a shelter or store like the Salvation Army that would take these, please let me know.  The linens from the top side of the building are ok, but the linens from the back side of the building need to be washed as they smell musty.

 

I have the commissioning/confession kneeler here to be brought to the Center in the Fall.  I thought it would be a nice memento and link to/continuation of the Sarto where so many received their call to ?Make a Friend, Be a Friend, Bring a Friend to Christ.?  Steve is going to find a place to hang the beautiful stained-glass Jesus from the chapel.  The tabernacle and altar, and all the chapel chairs are at Magdalen now.

 

And finally, Rob and I will be checking out the progress at the Magdalen Center next Wednesday, August 6th at 2pm if anyone can join us.  If not, we can make another appointment for you to see the new retreat center.
